Joann Sipes

THE BOOK

Joann Sipes pens a story of what it means to live through life with God by her side. Her book, “My Journey,” recalls several significant events in her life, culminating in her becoming a faithful disciple of the Lord.

Joann, born in Michigan, was adopted by a private couple when she was just 23 months old. Growing up with her adopted family, her sense of righteousness never wavered. While she grew up to be kind and generous, she is no stranger to using her fists to settle things, especially when bullies target her siblings in school.

Nevertheless, while she is undoubtedly resilient, Joann is not without her struggles. While part of a loving family, she also met challenges. From suffering a miscarriage to dealing with disabled relatives—her faith is indeed being tested as time goes by.

It’s safe to say that the book title is incredibly fitting. In a nutshell, life is full of positive and adverse events. While it’s certainly easy to lose hope in the face of adversity, the author makes it a point to relay her experiences and advice in a thoughtful, gentle, and sincere manner.

Considering her experience with welcoming the love of God into children’s hearts, she has an excellent talent for ensuring her readers feel less alone. Her experiences and perspective are not only inspiring, but they are incredibly relatable, making this book a pleasurable and inspiring read.

If you ever feel lost and unable to find the light, “My Journey” offers a refreshing and insightful perspective on how you can find yourself once more. With a bit of help from God, all things are certainly possible. I highly recommend this read for anyone who needs a little pick-me-up. This book is a gem worth reading and a must-read for anyone who needs a little help heading in the right direction.
